What you see on screen:
(No error message - fingers don't move with gestures or controllers)
What it means
For fingers to move, the Humanoid rig must have finger bones mapped and the Gesture layer must be able to move the hands.
Common causes
- Finger bones aren't mapped in the model's Rig > Configure
- The Gesture animator was replaced and lost its first-layer mask or hand layers
- A mask excludes the hands (fingers)
- Gestures are turned off in VRChat's Action Menu
How to fix it
- Open the model's Rig > Configure and check the finger bones under Left Hand and Right Hand
- Set the first Gesture layer's Mask to vrc_HandsOnly
- Make sure your Gesture animator has left- and right-hand layers (if not, go back to the SDK's sample)
- Check gestures are turned on in VRChat's settings
Before you change anything, make a full copy of your project folder so you can go back.
