What you see on screen:
Building Avatar… / Uploading… (progress stops, or Build & Publish does nothing)
What it means
The build or upload is hanging. According to VRChat, the usual causes are a red error in the Unity Console, or your internet provider having bad routing to VRChat's content servers (or filtering/throttling the connection).
Common causes
- A red Console error stopped the build
- Bad routing, filtering or throttling between your ISP and VRChat's content servers
- A VPN, proxy or security software getting in the way
- The SDK panel got stuck after logging in or switching scenes
How to fix it
- Open the Console, press Clear, build again, and fix the first red error
- If there's no error: for routing problems VRChat suggests trying Cloudflare WARP. If you already use a VPN or WARP, try turning it off instead
- Close and reopen the SDK panel, log out and back in, or restart Unity
- Update the VRChat SDK in VCC or ALCOM
- If it still hangs, report it on VRChat's feedback board or contact Support
Before you change anything, make a full copy of your project folder so you can go back.
